Chinese Fried Rice

Microwave Chinese Fried Rice

Cooking Time : 11 minutes micro cooking.


Rice, parboiled
2 cup
Onion, chopped
Vegetables, parboiled
2 cups
Soy sauce
1 tbsp
1 tsp
Cooking oil or Chilli oil
3 tbsp

Preparation & Cooking

  1. Heat oil in a large microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute on HIGH; add chopped onion and cook on HIGH for 1 minute.
  2. Add beaten eggs, and ½ tsp salt to the oil; cook for 2 minutes on MEDIUM, stirring once.
  3. Mix boiled vegetables with the egg mixture and cook on MEDIUM for 2 minutes, stirring once.
  4. Add rice and salt; sprinkle soy sauce and stir gently; sprinkle 2 tbsp water or stock; cover the dish with a lid and reheat for 5 minutes on REHEAT mode, so that the rice is very hot.


Serve the fried rice with any of the Chinese dishes.


Instead of vegetables, use cooked and chopped chicken or shrimps.

Tips:If you have to parboil rice in the microwave, put 1 cup raw rice and 5 cups water in a large dish; boil for 13 minutes on HIGH; drain the water immediately through a colander and place rice under the tap water. Drain well and use. Fried rice comes out very well if the parboiled rice is cooked in advance, keep it under refrigeration for a few hours.
